I do have the marriage license. They were married by a Justice of Peace and not in the church. In 1860, he was a farm laborer for John Doe in Newbury,Vermont. In 1861,he was conscripted in the Union Army in New Hampshire. On the 1900 Census, he is living in Hammond, Louisiana. He gives his birth date as June 1842 and his immigration date as 1847.
