Researching Walling/Newcomb
Hello all and thanks for any help:
My ancestor Nicholas C. Walling was born about 1812, at Boucherville, Chambley, Quebec. He married Elizabeth Newcomb, b.1812 also at Boucherville. Elizabeth's father, Samuel Newcomb, was born in Dutchess County, NY so we have that family line but I can't seem to trace the Wallings. Nicholas & Elizabeth moved to Ft. Covington in Northern NY and left a son Robert in NYS from whom I'm descended, then returned to Canada. We have Elizabeth dying in 1846 in "Corteau, Canada," which place I cannot find, but have no info. on where/when Nicholas died. Would like to find any info. on them; when married; where buried; and most particularly Nicholas' parents.
Thanks again for any help. Further info. here:

We're also stuck on tracing my direct immigrant ancestor, Nelson Como (Narcisse Comeau ?) born "abt. 1812" in Montreal area; married Marinda Tyrel (or Turrell) in Ogdensburg, NY in 1854 (she was from "Upper Canada.) His death cert. says parents were Margaret and John.
Thanks again!!
