Hi Gail:

I have access to birth records for the period of 1630 to 1799 because of a new database. But there is no province-wide birth/baptism registry for the period of 1800 to now in Quebec.

Some people have produced birth and baptism repertories for no more than 5 % of the Quebec parishes.

Census data might provide some info. I have just checked the 1901 Census (Automated Data) and I cannot find a William Dennis in Montréal.

In Quebec, we have death records for the period of 1926 to 1996. i will try to find the place of death of William. That might shed some lights on the whereabouts of Ruth.

Jean-Marie
