Quebec National Archives in Montreal for early documents. They recenmtly moved but their address can be obtained though search Internet. Use "Archives Nationales du Quebec" or go to Denis Beauregard's web where lots can be found. Address

Place to visit is the underground museum at Point Calliers in old Monreal. Its the original foundations of Ville Marie plus a lot more
