Stebbins family in Montreal
Posted by: Bill Stebbins (ID *****8072) Date: January 23, 2007 at 15:15:32

Hello,
I am researching my Stebbins line and I do not have much information. I was told that my grand father Philip Stebbins who was of French Canadian decent and born in Kankakee County Illinois. His parents were Louis and Louise Delaurius Stebbins. Louis was an only child. I recently got Louis and Louise Stebbins's marriage certificate that says that Louis's father was Louis and his mother was Virginia and her maiden name was Deslaurius. They were married in October 14, 1902. Louise's father's name was John Deslaurius and her mother was Awrelid Barsolon. The 1930 Us census says Louis Stebbins and Louise Stebbins were from Illinois and both of their parents were Canada French. I read that Louise Stebbins birth place Saint George Illinois in Ganeer Township and in Kankakee County is where French Canadian, people settled. It is now part of Bourbanis Illinois and Some french candians migrated there.
