Hello there. I'm trying to solve this mystery that's been bugging me for a while and I'd like some help with solving it.
Pascal Dezotell, or Desautel, was my 4th great grandfather, and he was born in Quebec on April 1st, 1799. He immigrated to the U.S. state of New York sometime in the 1820s, possibly earlier, and married one Mary Elizabeth Cook, b. 1812 in Quebec; they may have married in Canada or the U.S.
Pascal, Mary and their family moved to Wisconsin sometime before the Civil War, where they both lived their last years; Mary died in 1887 but Pascal not until Jan. 20, 1897.
I do know a fair bit about his childrens' families, but here's the thing: I have had no luck tracing either of Pascal's parents or any siblings he might have had.
There may be some hope, though, as there appears to be a document on Ancestry.com from the Drouin collection of colonial Baptism records, which may hold the answer.
Unfortunately, I don't have any subscription to Ancestry.com at the moment, least of all a World Explorer one, so if anyone who does have access to this potentially valuable document, whether thru Ancestry.com or anywhere else, could help me out, I'd appreciate it very much. =)
