Hi Bob. This is a long-shot, but perhaps this is the burial record for Reginald, however his last name wasn't Turner. From the Quebec, Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1621-1967:

Augustus Reginald Davidson, Doctor of Medicine & Professor in Niagara University, died at Buffalo in the State of New York, aged 43 years, one month & 14 days, of the 25th of May 1888, and was buried on the 29th day of May in the same year. ~Montreal (Anglican Christ Church Cathedral)

I don't know if this is YOUR students's Reginald, but there was an obituary published in the Buffalo NY Morning Express found at

The Buffalo Express, Sunday Morning, June 3, 1888 - "The Late Dr. A. R. Davidson - the well-known physician died on May 25th, at his home in this city, of typhoid pneumonia, the fatal illness dating from May 10th, when he got wet at the burning of St. Paul's Church. Augustus Reginald Davidson was born in the Province of Ontario, April 11, 1845. He graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Lower Canada, and entered business as a pharmacist in Montreal. He afterwards attended the University of Medicine Ann Arbor Mich., from which he received a diploma. He also studied medicine under Lewis of St. Louis, Mo., and finally settled in Buffalo where he carried on a drug business for some time. In 1878 he received the degree of M.D. from the Buffalo Medical College, attending the hospitals of London and Paris before engaging in the practice of medicine. In 1883 he took an active part in founding the medical department of Niagara University and was appointed professor of medical chemistry and toxicology which ? he occupied until his death. In his special work he was unequaled, and his judgement and skill sought by his brother physicians."

Interestingly, no mention of his wife & children. Again, not sure if this is him. Very likely just an interesting coincidence. Good luck in your search. Annie
