SMITH, John. 1917-2005. Passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on December 19, 2005. Survived by his wife Sylvia, his son Stanley and his Daughter-in-law Lorraine (Walker), his daughter Dawn and Grandchildren Shawn, Bradley and Jordan. Also survived by his sister Sophie and Dagny, his brother Fred and sister-in-law Inger. Predeceased by his brother Neils and Sister Margrette. His life was a commitment and celebration of service to his fellow man. Those fortunate to share the same road with John will forever respect and love him for his countless hours of devotion to others through, among others, Rotary, Lions, Quebec Easter Seals and the Danish Club, but also on his own through quiet personal acts of assistance to countless in need. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, December 28 in St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church, 4020 Grand Boul. N.D.G. H4B 2X5 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. and a reception will follow the service in the church hall. Memorial donations can be made to St. Ansgar's Church at the above address or the Salvation Army, 2050 Stanley
