Your dates are a bit mixed up. He died in 1920, but didn't come to Quebec until 1927? Had a child born some 25 years after they were married (1947 - 1922)? Where did they marry?

I found William Beattie, born 1920, arriving in Canada in 1927, with his aunt and uncle Gillespie, all bound for Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Given this birth date, he likely married in the 1940s, which makes the birth of a child in 1947 very possible; however, those records are not available to the general public.

There is an obituary online at the Niagara Falls Library site that may be his:

http://www.nflibrary.ca/nfplindex/results.asp?sk=4537486&sort=&start=41&db=6

It mentions a daughter, Lori, along with sons, Greg & Rex; a sister, Agnes Holden, in Scotland.
