Hi Lawrence,

I'm having a hard time finding the marriage record for Patrick and Helen.

You didn't give birth years for either of them, but as his father James was born about 1795 I thought this couple looked very possible in census - and they are in right place.

1881 BUCKINGHAM, OTTAWA, QUEBEC
KENNEDY

Patrick, age 42, farmer, born Ireland

Ellen, age 33, born Quebec

James, age 6, born Quebec

John, age 4, born Quebec

Thomas, age 2, born Quebec

from ages of children it would seem likely they married somewhere around early 1870's.

I found the burial for Helen, listed as Helene

Quebec, Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1621-1967 about Helene Kelly
Name:       Helene Kelly
[Hiline Kelly]
Event:       Enterrement (Burial)
Burial Year:       1903-1910
Burial Location:       Buckingham, Québec (Quebec)
Place of Worship or Institution:       St-Gregoire-de-Naziance

It says October 18, 1903 , buried in the cemetery of this Parish, the body of Helene Kelly, died the 15th current, at the age of 61 years, wife of Patrick kennedy of this Parish.

and Patrick

Quebec, Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1621-1967 about Patrick Kennedy
Name:       Patrick Kennedy
Event:       Enterrement (Burial)
Burial Year:       1892-1903
Burial Location:       Buckingham, Québec (Quebec)
Place of Worship or Institution:       St-Gregoire-de-Naziance

hard to read date but looks like it says June 28, 1901, burial in the cemetery of this Parish the body of Patrick Kennedy, spouse of Ellen Kelly, deceased age of 71 years.

an odd thing - I found burials for two people in Buckingham - a Patrick Kennedy and a Helene Kelly - both listed in the 1864-1872 listings but when I click on them to look at the image neither one is there - SO I am wondering if this could actually be their marriage and it was indexed as a burial instead and for some reason not coming up - maybe they linked it to the wrong page of the database??

this was on ancestry.com - so maybe someone with access to another site could find the entries and see what they show. On ancestry.com that particular section of the database has 223 pages so too many for me to go through

Carolyn L
