thanks to all for their help, it is greatly appreciated.
since posting the previous message I have had great responses that are helping me fill in the gaps.
However, it seems the more questions one answers the more questions one finds.
One researcher found the following information for me.
Mary Cole [nee Christie??]
according to Find My Past
it states on Canada Census for 1916
her birth was in England in 1884
I have that she was born 1 Jan 1885
and also that she was born in Edinburgh, Scotland .
again, all info is from my aunt, and I am not sure WHERE she got her information from.
it also states that she immigrated in 1899.....
which would make her 15 years old, so would one assume that she would be travelling WITH SOMEONE....not sure of the times if a young girl would be travelling alone.
Also not sure about the statement that she arrived in Canada via the Bavarian, it was put into service in 1899, but I can't find the passenger list for it.
and this would have been the only year that it was carrying passengers to Canada as it was pressed into service for the Boar war in Oct 1899 until 1902.
I have tried several different ways of trying to find the passenger list for the ship to no avail. any help would be greatly appreciated.
or I have tried querying her as a passenger on ANY ship that came from England to Quebec, Canada.
depending on how the above works out, don't know that the info that was found on Wm. F. Christie is relavent, if he really is related to her at all.
She isn't listed WITH him on the ship in 1905
and again it might just be a coincidence that there is another Christie that travelled on supposedly the same ship that she was supposed to have come to Canada on.
any suggestions where I should be looking would be appreciated.
any hypothesis would also be great.
or any connections.......would be terrific.
thanks for all your time and effort.
