Hi Daphne,

I see William gave you quite a bit, but I found the family in 1861 for you.

1861 WELLINGTON, CANADA WEST (ONTARIO)
SMALL

John, age 29, farmer, born England

Jess, age 26, born Scotland

James H., age 9, born Lower Canada

Jess, age 7, born Upper Canada

Mary, age 5, born Upper Canada

Robert, age 3, born Upper Canada

David, age 1,born Upper Canada

Interesting bit here is that son James is shown born Lower Canada, rest of children born Upper Canada. Lower Canada was a term for Quebec and Lower Canada for Ontario. I did not find a baptism for James in Quebec records, nor a marriage for John and Jessie so that may have been an error in the census.
