Does anyone have any information about a Thomas HITCHCOCK, b. ca. 1783? Canadian census of 1861, Wolfe Island, ONT says Thomas was born in U.S. I'm guessing possibly New York, since New York is right across the St. Lawrence River from Wolfe Island. But I could be wrong. Could be anywhere in the US. Wife's name was Margaret. Would appreciate any help anyone could provide. Some of the HITCHCOCK family relocated from Wolfe Island to Raleigh Twp in Kent Co. ONT in 1860s, then later immigrated to Detroit MI area. Some descendants still there. Thomas & Margaret found in 1861 census, Wolfe Island. In late 1860s, son Samuel relocated his family from Wolfe Island to Raleigh Twp., Kent Co. Thomas & Margaret not found in 1871 Canadian census. Have found no death records or burial records for them. They did not relocate to Kent Co. Did they die?? Move elsewhere?? Can anyone help me find what happened to them??? Thank you.
