Peter(b.1821) and Jane(b.1830) Mayhew from Canada

My great great grandparents were from Canada. I've tracked via the 1880 and 1870 U.S. censuses to Meade township , Huron County, MI. They were farmers. They are listed as Peter and Jane in 1870 and Peter and Anglino in 1880.They immigrated from Canada in 1860 with the first three of their children: Joseph 1855(my great grandfather), Peter 1856, Levi 1858. Nine more were to be born in Michigan. I've been unable to trace the family in Ontario or Quebec. Census forms generally list their birthplace as "Canada-French" or "Canada-Fr". Is anyone familiar with this iteration of the Mayhews?
