James McDonald/Margaret Johnston

James McDonald and Margaret Johnston were married in the Presbyterian church at Johnston's Corners on Dec. 17, 1846. This is in Gloucester, CArleton County, Ontario. Their son James was born on Dec 11, 1846 as was Sarah on Jan 5, 1849. In 1850, I found the family in Oswegatchie, New York with children James, Margaret, Sarah, and George with George being born May 1850 in New York. James was supposed to be from Prescott, Ontario but I am not sure if this is the town of Prescott or the county.
Margaret was living in Morristown, New York as a widow in 1874 when she did a legal transaction in Gloucester, Ontario. I think James was alive in 1870 but not 100% sure. There was a James and Margaret in Morristown in 1870 with their family. If anyone can help me with this family, it would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Peggy g
