LOL! No, it's not a strange question at all and is really based on a lot of assumptions. Besides the fact that they share the same last name, Elizabeth (Eliza) and her husband were the godparents for all four of Ann Jane's children. Also, Ann Jane and John Rigby were the godparents of one of Eliza's children. In addition, Eliza's first child was named Ann Jane McClutchy; however, that child died in infancy. Based on the year of their marriages, we believe that Eliza was Ann Jane's older sister - but you're right, we can't be positive of the relationship without knowing their parents' names.
All of Eliza and Ann Jane's children were baptized in Quebec City (St. Patrick's Parish). Eliza's husband died in 1878 and was interred at St. Patrick's Church in Quebec city and sometime between his death and the 1880 census, the family moved to Portland, Maine. John and Ann lived in Montcalm, Quebec, Canada in 1861 - John was a policeman at the time. We have not been able to determine where they were after that point.
Eliza's husband, James, appears to have been born in Belfast, Ireland, based on the 1851 Census. John Rigby also appears to have been from Ireland based on Census information.
