My cousin and I have hit a wall tracking our ancestor Elizabeth Jane Simpson and her sister Ann Jane Simpson. I'm hoping someone might have some more info. Elizabeth (Eliza) was born around 1839 and married James McClutchy. They lived in Quebec and had several children, including James S., Robert J, Andrew S. and Eliza J. between 1854 and 1876. In 1880, the family moved to Maine. Ann Jane married John Rigby and had three boys: George, John, and Martin. They were living in Quebec between 1860 and 1881.
We believe that the Simpson family came from Ireland to Canada but we're not sure, and we don't know the names of Eliza's and Jane's parents. If anyone has any additional information about this family, I'd love to hear from you.
