Can you send me in the right direction? We have very little information on our family.I'm trying to find the right Gonyea family(i've been told it was origanly Gagne". I do not have any Gonyea relatives other than my immediate family. I know of other families with the name but have been told we aren't related to them. I've been told there were 2 separate Gonyea families in the Malone New York area and that they are the "wrong" families also. I seem to remember hearing about my Father's cousin/uncle(?) who held a birth record in Wisconsin or Michigan for being the largest baby ever born in the state-he was a Gonyea. I know my grandfather was Otis Gonyea-married to Ann Hupka (Utica NY) and my great grandfather was Oliver Gonyea- recently a story has surfaced that he may have been an orphan?? Have you come across either name during your research? I want to start my search in the right direction.... Thanks-Jami P.S.-my father is a James-he has one sister Patricia(married) and one Brother Paul(unmarried-illness).
