I was wondering about the John Cook who married Annie Houston. My Great Great Grandfather's name was John Cook who (either he did when he was a baby or his father did) emmigrated from Ireland and ended up on Manitoulin Island (Sheshegwaning Indian Reserve), Ontario. He married my Great great Grandmother Rose Negonewainah (there are various spellings of this surname), who was an Ojibwae Native. Rose gave birth to my Great Grandfather William Cook in 1887. When John's parents found out that Rose was of First Nations heritage they took John away from her and she never saw him again. I am thinking that there may be a connection because names like "Robert" and "William" appear on that side of the family.

If you think there might be a connection feel free to E-mail me: seangale@hotmail.com

Thanks
