William A James from Canada to Michigan

I am hoping someone can help me with the James side of my family. They immigrated from Canada to Michigan. This is what I have so far. Does anyone know who the first Wm James parents were? And if anyone has any more information to add to what I have, I would appreciate it. Thanks

William James born 1857 in Canada married to Hereietta(Etta) Rose born in 1860 in New York

Long Rapid, Alpena, Michigan

Son: Chester A James born 24 May 1884 in Michigan married to a Cora Dell Hunt born 1889 in Michigan.

CHESTER A. JAMES-SR

HILLMAN--The death of Chester A. James-sr, 81, occurred at 4:30 a.m. today (Nov. 2) at Rogers City Hospital, where he was taken from a nursing home 12 hours previously.

Mr. James, retired Hillman Township hall custodian, was born May 24, 1884 in Green Township, Alpena County. He married Cora Hunt on Feb. 11, 1907, in Hillman. The late Rev. Locke MacLean officiated. She died Apr. 30, 1960.

Surviving are five sons, Chester A. James-jr, of Hillman, Lee of Munith, Mich., George of Horton, William of Marshall, and Carl with the Coast Guard at Traverse City; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Shepherd of Hillman and Mrs. Mary Boldrey of St. Johns; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Peters of Montana; and 36 grandchildren.

Mr. James body will be at the Connor Funeral Home, Alpena, until 8:30 a.m. Thursday, then will be brought to the Calvary Episcopal Church, where the funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Ernest St. Andrew will officiate.
Burial will be in Hillman Cemetery. sons served as pallbearers. Interment was in Hillman cemetery.
