EDWARD CORRIGAL who was born at Moose Factory in 1836, will celebrate his 94th birthday January 14, 1930. He formerly lived at St. Andrew's, but is now living with his daughter, Mrs. Grigorie, 288 Rosseau Street east, Transcona. He recalls many interesting events of the pioneer days. Mr. Corrigal joined the Hudson's Bay company at the age of 16, serving 30 years. His father also was in the company's service and came from the Orkney Islands. On the death of his father, at the age of 90, Mr. Corrigal took over the farm at St. Andrew's. He recalls that on hearing of his father's illness he started from Fort Simpson Dec. 18 by dog team, and reached St. Andrew's March 4, travelling continuously. He remembers when herds of buffalo roamed the prairies and has taken part in many a buffalo hunt. With the exception of failing eyesight, Mr. Corrigal enjoys fairly good health, and his mind is clear and active. His wife died 12 years ago at the age of 78.
