Western Land Grants questions
Posted by: Larry Scott (ID *****6651) Date: March 07, 2004 at 19:29:21

I find in researching Henry Torrance that in 1880 he had a land grant...found in the Canada Archives website, and in the remarks column it states: (Quebec) 160 acres N.W.M.P. Secretary of State. Is there any source which might explain the meaning of N.W.M.P. Is it an abreviation for North West Manitoba Province?
