Archibald Munro b. abt 1858 "went to Winnipeg" from Ontario

The youngest brother of my g-grandfather was Archibald Munro, born in Elgin Co, Ontario, about 1858 (age 3 in 1861 census). He left home as a young man and was said to have gone to Winnipeg. The family never heard from him again. I haven't found him in 1881 census and know nothing else about him. I wondered if anyone in that area would have any connection to an Archibald Munro in that time frame. It is also possible that he used a middle name instead of Archibald. Many of the family seemed to do that, but I have no idea if he had a middle name. This is a long shot, obviously.
