I am a descendent of Francois Welsh and Ernestine Pagé. Francois Welsh, named as Wells in your list, was my great grandfather. I have extensive information on the Pagé family in Manitoba, however, I have not be able to make the link back to Quebec. Joseph Pagé first came to Manitoba in the late 1700's or early 1800's as part of the fur trade. I do not know who his parents or sibling were, but I suspect that he may have come from the Sorel area where many of the fur traders came from. Please email me and I will forward my info to you. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
I am also trying to trace the Welsh name back to Quebec. Francois Welsh's father was also called Francois Xavier Welsh dit Allemand. The senior FX Welsh was a fur trader and likely came to Manitoba around the same time as Joseph Pagé. We were always told that the Welsh's were German, so I suspect that FX Welsh's ancestors that arrived in Quebec were Hessian's or other mercenaries. Any info on Welsh's would be much appreciated.
(Note: I think the Bernice Smith that responded to you is my first cousin. Our mothers, Yvonne and Elizabeth née Welsh, are sisters)
