Hi Marilyn,

I will take you up on your kind offer to do a look-up of my family. I noticed that you had a book listed about Mather, Manitoba and I am particularly interested in this area.

My ancestors, the Hutchinson's, moved from Barbados to Manitoba in 1896. From all accounts, at least two of them lived in Mather, Manitoba. Their names were Jane Gwendolyn Hutchinson and Sybil Hutchinson (sisters). Gwen, as she was commonly known, married William King who had immigrated from Scotland. William was a banker for, at that time, the Bank of Hamilton (later became to Bank of Commerce). Sybil married Charles Walton who, along with his brother Geoffrey, also emigrated from Barbados to Manitoba. Charles, a doctor, had a practice in Mather in addition to a pharmacy.

If you are able to provide any information on them, I would appreciate it. If there is a lot of detail about either or both families, please let me know as I would then purchase a copy of the book.

Again, thanks for your willingness to share.

Wendy Lintunen
