Looking for any information on the Hunters in Stony Mountain. Andrew was born in Kilwinning, Scotland on Oct. 21, 1845 and came to Canada with parents James Hunter and Maria Wilson Hunter around 1849.
They settled in Beverley Township, Canada West and later moved to Ashfield Twp. Huron Co. ON.
Andrew Hunter was granted land under the Western Land Grants and homesteaded in the Stony Mountain area.
He appears on the 1901 Census for Rockwood District being married to Annie born July 29, 1854 in Germany.
They had 4 children on that census.
Robert - born Jan. 18, 1885
Maggie - born Nov. 7, 1886
Walter - born Dec. 7, 1889
Thomas - born July 8, 1893
Is anyone researching this Hunter line and descendants? I have information on Andrew's parents and siblings and descendants.
