I too am searching the same DESCOTEAUX Family. I have records of the children of this couple as well. What I am trying to find is one of the daughters of this couple named Marguerite DESCOUTEAUX ("dit" BATON). In records found, her father Joseph DECOUTEAU also went by the "dit" name BATON. (He was known as Old Man BATON). It is said Margurite b. 1834 married Jean Baptiste (John) ROSSIGNOL dit BLUE. So far I have found 5 children born from this couple. One of these children (a daughter, may have been a child from a prior marriage of John BLUE).
1) Albert (married Virginie DESMARAIS)
2) Zoe, (she married Jacque PAYES)
3) Pierre
4) Josephus (baptized in 1863 at Old Crossing, MN) is the latest record I found.

I am trying to locate the marriage record and further family history. I am also wondering if those of you searching this family may have run into the CAVALIER surname.
I have been told the marriage took place at the Turtle Mountain Reservation, but I do not know what year. (Guessing 1860). I also have documents that indicate Marguerite and John BLUE may possibly have lived somewhere in Canada in the early 1900s. They applied for Manitoba Script. Would be greatful for any help I can get.
