Elkhorn? Fremont, Elkhorn & Mo Railroad?
Posted by: Sandy Date: October 30, 2000 at 20:48:11
  of 1701

Can anyone tell me where Elkhorn is and its proximity to Binscarth?

Is Elkhorn associated with the Fremont, Elkhorn & Mo Valley Railroad Company of the late 1800s?

I have a family of John Livingston (b ca 1826 in Scotland)...apparently emigrated to Canada before 1862....
then sometime bewteen 1875-1880 emigrated to Granville County, North Carolina.
A son, John, worked for the Fremont, Elkhorn & Mo Valley Railroad Company in Fremont, Nebraska in the 1890s.

By 1902, parents John Sr (b ca 1826) and Catherine, and sister Annie are in Binscarth, Manitoba, presumably having returned to Canada.

Could this railroad have gone through Granville Co, NC??

Any information/help of any sort greatly appreciated.

-Sandy
