George & Margaret Shepherd of Winnipeg
Posted by: Steve Porter (ID *****0306) Date: June 17, 2013 at 11:22:49

Margaret Sherrard was born in Londonderry, Ireland [modern day Northern Ireland] on March 29th 1888 and in 1911 was still a spinster living in her home town.

Some time after 1911 she met and married George Shepherd. George may have been English and they possibly married in England.

They emigrated to Canada and it is believed they settled in Winnipeg. It's known they had one son, Robert but it's not clear whether he emigrated with them or was born in Canada. It's not known if they had any other children.

They were last known to have returned to Northern Ireland to visit family sometime around 1950-55, George had been involved in some form of accident earlier in his life that left him with a false roof to his mouth, which was something of a party trick to remove.

Margaret probably remained in written contact with her sisters until she died.

When and where did Margaret Sherrard and George Simpson marry?

When did they emigrate to Canada?

Did they have any children other than the one known son, Robert?

When did they die?

If you think you are a descendent of Margaret and George then please get in touch. I am Margaret's great nephew.
