In the Rural municipality of Strathcona there was the Ninette Sanatorium for people suffering from TB. I can't be sure but the pages before Christie are all people listed as patients.So the nurses and other help may make sense. The cook Mary is listed as single but census's are not always correct. I don't know if the family was living in that area at the time, and she worked there or if you have two different Mary's but hope this gives you something to work with
