I am trying to help my cousin research his Carter grandfather, who was born 14 May 1891 Canada. In the 1920 US Federal census, I find him living in Bale, Ransom County, North Dakota (USA). My cousin just found a website with free Canadian census for 1906 ~ Manitoba. He found his grandfather and (previously unknown) siblings, Agnes 26 yrs; John 24 yrs; Chester 22 yrs; Norah 20; Rae 14; Alvin 11, and Marvin (Ven) who was aged 17. (The name Marvin is sometimes also found as Melvin. I think he was actually named Melvin Marvin, or Marvin Melvin. "Ven" seemed to be his nickname.) I am fairly familiar with researching in the United States, but I am at a complete loss as to researching in Canada. If anyone has suggestions, please feel free to point me in directions that I should be researching. Apparently there were no parents listed with these children in the 1906 Canadian census. Thank you in advance for help. Brenda Hare Notify Administrator about this message?
