Posted by: James Craig (ID *****5169) Date: July 11, 2008 at 11:51:35
  of 1701

(Taken from a local Scottish newspaper)

".......... I am researching the family tree of John Stewart, of Wick, who emigrated to Canada im 1821 with his son James. They settled near Stratford, Ontario. James married and had six sons. One son, who was my grandfather, went into farming, three attained their MD at the University of Chicago, one became a lawyer and the other a building contractor.
My grandfather, John Stewart, came to Manitoba in 1881 and established himself near Minnedosa, Manitoba. John Stewart married Elizabeth Crerar. Their son, James, who is my father, farmed in Minnedosa, Manitoba."

Any information regarding this family will be greatly appreciated.
