TOM'S ANDREWS STORE (By Train Station Pikwitonei, MB) around 1940

My mom Hellen Andrews was born July 23, 1935 to Tom born 1878 and Hellen Andrews born Mar 24 1901 South Lake near Nelson House, MB. (yes she is named after her mother)

They lived on a trapline in Pikwitonei, Manitoba.

They had a store and people just called it "Tom's store", or "Tom Andrews Store" it was by the train station and they would have to get the wheel barrel and get supplies and bring it back to the store. Tom was also a commercial fisherman.

They say he never spoke "Cree" my Grandmother's native tongue, and she never spoke "English", they just used hand signals.

I know nothing about my grandfather and no one has a photo either. Does anyone know of this man or remember a story about him.

Does anyone have a PICTURE OF THE STORE, or train station back then.

Mom said back then only 35 people lived there, she had to run the store.

Her sister and brothers are: Dixie, Charlotte, Bella, Florence, Joe, (there brother James died in a boat he drowned it rained so bad it filled up the boat).

Looking for Andrews connections, would love to meet Tom's siblings.

Or how would one get a copy of papers for his store to be registered?
