Thank You Jenna
The information you gave me was very informative. I had no idea about James Leland Sims being in the legislature, that may give me some leads to find a living relative. I have talked on the phone with Brian Mayers, in B. C. about the Sims family, he is a descendant of Eiley Sims, so I have lots of information on James and Mary Sims, His parents, and all of their kids. I have the original documents of my father in laws adoption. So I only had Emma Irene Sims to go by. We were very sad to find that she had passed away at such a young age. I went to the library and got the copy of her death certificate, which gave me her parents names and places of birth. I then got copies of their death certificates. I called every Sims that I could in Quesnel trying to locate a descendant from Maggie Jane and no one knew her. It was so sad. I was hoping to locate some one alive for my father in law to talk with about his birth mother. My father in law is still alive, he is 76 years old. I would love to be able to locate his living relatives so that he could learn more of his birth family. He missed out on so much not having that side of the family, and his children have missed even more, IE no grandparents or cousins. So it would benifit this family greatly if I could locate someone decendant of James Leland Sims, I think his sister Mary Ellen Sims Died early in the 1920s, I found that on the Manitoba Vital Stats data base. I have no idea if Maggie and Francis had any other children.
I have not though to look under the name Frank so that is a big help as well. It was interesting to get George and Roberts Military info, My father in law must look much like them by the description. Thank you so much for your help I greatly appreciate it!
