My husband's grandfather was Alfred HILL born ca 26 Apr 1875. His marriage certificate says he was born at 34 Heris, England (wherever that might be) and his death certificate says born at Kings Cross, London, England. Many years ago when older relatives still lived we were told that Alfred's father was William HILL and mother was Mary CATTELL. Of course those relatives are long gone and that's where we stand. Once there is a memory that there might have been step siblings somewhere in the US! Alfred was married to Lilian ORMROD in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada at Christ Church in 1913. A Louise ORMROD stood up for them. How did she fit in?? Are there still relatives in Manitoba? With this scant information, if anyone is able to put in a puzzle piece, it would be greatly appreciated.
