nursing schools - 1920's

I am trying to help a friend with her genalogy. She doesn't know much about them - they were very secretive. She was raised by her aunt who was a nun and trained as a nurse. She has her pin from St. Joseph's Hospital - graduation date is 1927. She thinks that the hospital was in Winnipeg but I cannot find it now. The aunt also worked at St Boniface Hospital also and won a medal of some sort. The aunt's real name we think was Pauline Kwolick and was known as Sister Rita after taking her vows. She left the order some time around 1940 and was then known as Rita Mercer. Any help with this puzzle will be greatly appreciated.
