William Fisher SCOTT (World War 1)

Looking for any information or connections to William Fisher SCOTT, born July 11 1878, in Glasgow, Scotland.

I believe he was the son of James Scott (born about 1851/1852) and Jane Kay (born 1849), with possible siblings Jane Scott born 1873, James Scott born 1874, and Walter Kay Scott born 1876, all born in Scotland. I loose this entire family just prior to the 1881 census of Scotland and there after.

On the Canadian National Archives web site, to my surprise, I found a (CEF) attestation record online for William Fisher Scott (same name, birth date and birth place). It indicates that he enlisted in WW1 during 1915 and that he was a married man, with a next of kin, Mrs. William Scott (possibly his wife), living at 469 Pacific Avenue in Winnipeg. Street directories, as looked up by the Winnipeg library, indicate that this Scott family was not at 469 Pacific Avenue prior or following his enlistment.

Any assistance or information about William Fisher Scott and his family greatly appreciated,
Thank you,
Linda
