Hi, I'm not sure if I can help you. John Gillespie Stewart was a mining contractor who was born in Dumfreshire, Scotland on March 8, 1841. This is the only information that I have on him, except when he died, which was March 24, 1887 in Nanaimo, BC. I have no idea whether he had any brothers or sisters or even what his parent's names are. Nor do I have a marriage certificate for his marriage to Caroline Reid. I have tried looking on Scotland's People online, but have come up empty. As always I will keep looking and hopefully a lead might pop up. If there is a connection to your Stewart family, I will be in touch, thanks for the message.
