Robert Maxwell Reid, English RAF Officer in Caulfield, B.C. Canada. WWII.

Hello there!
I have come across a photo of an RAF Pilot Officer in my recently deceased Father-in-laws attic, in Upwey, Weymouth, Dorset, UK. On the reverse are the words... Robert Maxwell Reid, [might be Maxwell-Reid], aged 23, "Wardgate", Caulfield B.C. Canada.
We have no knowledge of this person, but it would be a shame to keep the photo, which is mounted, from any surviving family he may have. It seems to have been taken during the time of WWII. He appears to have been a flyer although he still has his Sgt's stripes. Maybe a recent promotion? This is a Royal Air Force uniform, UK.
I have tried to find Caulfield on the web, and the closest I can find is an area of Vancouver.
Please could anyone tell me if there was such a place, also Wardgate, a camp maybe?
Any advice on tracing this persons family would be gratefully received. Thank you.
Kind regards.
Eddie Spicer.
Somerset.
UK.
