As to DOBIE WEBB's birthdate, that is one of the things I had hoped to find out from either the marriage record for Fernie, B.C., or possibly a death record. My father was born in 1904, so I would say 1880-ish for Dobie's birth. As I think I've mentioned, he was born in Ontario, was married to my grandmother, Ina May Gordon long enough for three children to be born. He, at some point then, made his way to B.C.This is where I found the reference of his marriage in 1914 to one Isabella Duffett. His mother's maiden name was Mary Ann Root. However she had no connection to B.C.I have quite a bit of background on her ancestry as her named evolved from Ruth to Rott to Root and not only has a geneaological book been written in regard to this Root family, there have been many people contributing to message boards which has filled in many of the blanks for her family.Nothing in her ancestry will produce anything pertaining to Dobie (Dobie, in fact being her mother's maiden name) in relation to B.C.I think there's a possibility that Dobie may have ended up in Montana, but I'm not sure and am not sure at this point how to access any Montana records which might show of his death. He also had a son, Mervin Webb who I've been told died (a)from tuberculosis, or (b)died as a result of an accident with a horse.I was told that Dobie had a farm in B.C. and wanted to bury Mervin there, but was not allowed to do so.I'm rambling on, but again, any suggestions you might have to point me in a good direction would be appreciated.Thanks.
