Hello Midge: Would you be related to the Schwartz family
by any chance? Joseph S. Schwartz was the son of Henri
Schwartz and Catherine Schilling and was born in Ontario.
Henry came with 2 children -Susanna dying after they arrived
Carolina Kunenmann was the daughter of Peter K. and Elizabeth Kaiser.Brothers Henri and Peter Schwartz and their sister Catherine (Schwartz)Hinsberger arrived in 1836 from France. They spoke German of the Lorrain region therefore it is assumed they came from Germany. I believe Catherine Schilling died in the 1840s and Henri remarried to Eliz. Laub (found 3 different surnames). Will check church records next time I am in Waterloo. Jos. & Carolina - I have 12 children listed. A number of sons went to N.D. & that was the last record I had of Henry Urban - WW1 registration. Henry Urban had several cousins in Vancouver - Charles Frank & Victor Swartz.
