I know I am asking for the impossible.

It is stated in our family that a portrait of Lady Mary Gledsdale hung/or still does hang in The Empress Hotel, Victoria.

I know the hotel is now The Fairmont Empress Hotel.

If anyone could help me as to who this lady was, or could point me in the right direction as to where/who to contact it would be a great help.

I have tried to contact the hotel through the internet, but it`s only for bookings etc. I live in the u.k. and it`s a bit far for a `day out`.

I am related to the Gledsdale`s in the u.k. for which there are not too many of them.

Any help most appreciated.
