Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Vicki,
Another site you can try is www.city.grandforks.bc.ca (sorry I don't know how to set the address up to link!).
Some links from this site are to the Grand Forks Library, Grand Forks Gazette (a letter to the newspaper may help find someone who knew your relatives) and the schools in Grand Forks . High school students from Midway were bussed to Grand Forks until the high school in Midway opened (about 1973). Also, the library has copies of the year books from the Grand Forks high school - you might want to look through them when you are there.
There was a book published for the centennial celebrations in 1997 or 1998 called "Grand Forks - the First 100 Years", I think its still available in GF.
If you want copies of the death or marriage registrations, let me know.
Meg
