Hi Suzanne...I can't help you in locating your family but I can send you to a couple of sites that you may find interesting.

Free, 1901 census online is www.automatedgenealogy.com

The British Columbia Archives, Vital Events is online so you may be able to track down some death certificates (information). For a fee, they will even send a copy of them to you...and sometimes they are loaded with information. But as always it should be taken with a grain of salt as the info given is only as good as the one giving it.
