Ernest Roots, Medicine Hat (1849 - 1919?)

Searching for Ernest Henry Roots, son of John and Hannah Durrant Roots. He was christened in in February 1849 in Halling, Kent, England. Immigrated to the USA in 1853 and settled first in LaSalle County, Illinois and then in Nemaha County, Kansas. He appears in the 1880 Nemaha County census as Henry E. Roots, then disappears. He may be the same Ernest Roots who died in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada in 1919. Any information would be appreciated.
