ANDERSON, ELISABETH Alberta?from Sweden
Posted by: Ingrid Date: June 22, 2000 at 23:57:37
  of 1524

I'm Looking for relatives in Canada or USA:
Elisabeth Anderson was born around a small village called Mo, in the parish of Berg (Hoverberg) in the county of Jamtland in Sweden. She emigrated in the late 1800:s
She was married to a swede, had three children: two sons and a daughter: Hugo, Sigurd and (maybe) Agnes. I'm not sure of the girls name. The children must have been born in the years 1900-1910. Sorry to say I know nothing about her husband -more than he was a swede too. Maybe they met in USA?
The whole family visited Sweden and the homevillage in the 1920:s, as my mother remembered it they were planning to move back -but they didn't. My mother Ingeborg, born 1913, did remember this visit very well and she and her older sister Anna and brother Erik used to talk about it under the years and told us children about this visit. And I remember that my grandmother uses to show me pictures of Elisabeth and her children, taken "overthere". They were all standing infront a white house and the even had a car. The photos was taken in the years 1910-1925 as far as I remember from the clothing they was wearing.
My grandmother Ingrid Ekberg 1872-1954 used to get christmas-cards from Elisabeth with family and I remmember names of places from these cards: Edmonton, Settle, Minnesota....
They must have moved around a little.....
The contact was broken around 1950, maybe because of the death of Elisabeth Anderson; as I heard from the old folks she past away in the late 1940:s.
As all my old folks are gone, and there is nothing left from the emigrants ( I don't know where cards, photos went...)
BUT the children of Elisabeth must have great memories from this journey they did as they never visited Seden again. They must have talked about the journey, and they must have told their children...and grandchildren
So I wonder if there are grandchildren, great grandchildren still remembering this family-memory about a long journey to the old country?
SO are there still Andersons that remember this and know that Elisabeth must be their great-(great)-grandmother, please let me know
OR if there are people knowing about this family.
