Hanmore and Cambourne, 1920's
Posted by: Eleanor Sibbert Date: February 02, 2001 at 09:03:00
  of 1524

In 1923, my father George William Cambourne arrived from England with his brother, Charles Cambourne, and his mother Violet Ellen (Eaton)Cambourne. They were met in Quebec by the Salvation Army and sent by train to Alberta. There they were met by Alfred Hanmore. My grandmother married him and they lived at his farm near St. Paul's. Alfred had a "full section of land" and "a huge house". A son John was born. Alfred was later killed, crushed by a feed grinder. My grandmother, father etc. returned to England until 1926. Looking for anyone that might be connected to the Hanmore families in Alberta. Thanks.
