The Spanish surname Campos originated in Spain and is one having the most numerous coats of arms. The surname Campos according to the heraldic scholars belongs to a Castilian family that came from the land of Campos in Valladolid, Palencia and Leon. The surname is of toponymic origin "campo" given to those that lived or held land in the country and is particularly associated with the Catalonia region of Spain.
