Hi there, this is a few years after your first posting.
My ancestors were of the Campion family also. Michael Campion came from Gargara, Kilkenny to New Zealand with John Byrne, (also from Gargara) I have established (or hope that I have thru Griffiths Valuation) that the farms were side by side in Gargara, Mayne, Kilkenny. Parents posssibly Patrick Campion and William Byrne. This has yet to be confirmed. John Byrne 1836c had two sisters, Ann 1843 and Mary 1845 who also came out to New Zealand. Mary Byrne married Michael Campion and they were my great grandparents. On marriage certificate it did not have their parents names (not required at that time) There was also a brother James Byrne who stayed in Kilkenny.
Have you any further information?
Regards
Sue Foote
