i live in Winston County Alabama, it's a little over a hours drive from Birmingham, to the NW and a little over a hour from the Tn. state line.
i use my yahoo email for [email protected], just put Campbell in the subject line so i will know it is ok to open and yes i am on Facebook.
i never really thought about Manassah being Indian but i guess anything is possible. i do know that the he and the family were involved in church affairs, i have a copy of a paper that mentions his name and some of the Leaths....can't remember the name of the church right off, i will dig out my paper files.
Manassah and Chelnessa's son Booker was my g-grandfather, Booker married Nancy Gilbreath, daughter of Alexander Prue Gilbreath and Dicey Arminda Avery Gilbreath.....after Nancy died, she is buried at Mt. Flat in Crossville Al., Booker remarried to Amanda " Mandy" Bishop, daughter of Daniel Bishop and Malissa Millican Bishop.
Booker and Nancy's daughter , Mary Nancy Elizabeth Campbell was my maternal grandmother, she married John Franklin Carden, after the Campbell family home burned and they moved to Marion Co. Al. , they married in 1905.
my mom was the 5th of 10 children, Lois Victoria, she was born in 1916 and died in 1999 from a stroke. all of grandma and grandpa's children are now gone as well as the spouses so it's just us cousins left, of which there are a bunch.
Leslie Waltman who helped compilethe material with Edward J. Ladd for the Gilbreath family books is the one who sent me the Leath family familyseveral years back. i had not heard from Leslie in a long while, recently another relative gave me his new email address and i sent him a message but never heard back from him.
